| Do UFOs really exist?
The Ministry of Defence has for the first time opened its real-life 'X Files', detailing how its experts have examined photographs of UFOs hovering over the UK. While the images range from the baffling to the risible, there is no doubting the seriousness that officials reserve for the issue of extraterrestrial life. Correspondence between the MoD and members of the public who report sightings of strange objects reveals that Whitehall mandarins remain "totally open-minded" about the existence of UFOs. The letters - obtained by Scotland on Sunday through the Freedom of Information Act - confirm that the MoD has a procedure of scrambling fighter planes to confront any unidentified craft or object that enters UK airspace. However, there are hints that at least some strange objects seen in the sky are of a distinctly terrestrial provenance.
ONE LAST BID FOR SURVIVAL
The season kicking off with just over two thousand in the ground, the scattered 'pitter patter' of clapping as the players take the field on their way to YET anaother defeat!!. Some burke sat behind the goal wearing a silly pair of sun glasses and a copy of the daily Echo under his arm. Kids running up and down the isles of the seats playing as there is plenty of room. The shortage of matchday programmes because they have only printed so many!!. A couple of twits singing "come on Bournemouth"!!!. The Council are thrillled to bits because there is no trouble or complaints from local residents. All the 'blue-rinse' old biddies will be happy as we now have a nice little football club on the edge of town that does not disrupt any official feathers!!!! The Council can now concentrate on the building of a new bowls club for all the local 'ponces' who seem to think that losing out football club is of no consequence.

Although you do write entire episodes with EastEnders, it has been pre-planned by the production team and they know what they want to happen.
New component design could reduce cost of proposed Facility for Rare ...
Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energys (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory have developed new state-of-the-art techniques that will lead to significant improvements in the performance of superconducting niobium cavities. Argonnes superconducting spoke cavities can operate at lower temperatures and at higher magnetic fields than previous designs, translating into a potential savings in the cost of a heavy-ion linear accelerator, such as that required for the proposed Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB). An electromagnetic cavity consists of a space surrounded by an electrical conductor. When an electromagnetic (EM) wave that shares the cavitys natural frequency enters, it bounces back and forth within the cavity, creating a phenomenon known as resonance.

Crackdown on rowdy drinkers
The Evening News revealed earlier this month how at least one complaint a day about noisy smokers is being made to the local authority on the issue. Councillor Sheila Gilmore, the city's antisocial behaviour leader, said: "The bylaw is not just for the city centre, it's intended to be used across the city. "In some other parts of the country it is against the law completely to drink outdoors unless in pavement cafes, but we didn't want to be seen as killjoys. "The police have told us that their officers will use their own judgment in every individual case and that a commonsense approach will be taken." A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Police told the Evening News: "We will be duty-bound to enforce the laws as set down by the Scottish Executive, working alongside the council, but we would not like to make any further comment at this stage.
The History of Chinese Imperial Food
Westerners eat more meat while Chinese eat more vegetables, especially the traditional cereals. (Cereals are said to have been discovered by Shen Nong, the chief of the ancestors of remote antiquity.) China began growing the five cereals as food crops during the Zhou Dynasty. The Zhou Dynasty was the most prosperous period of the slave society, and during this time politics, economics and culture advanced greatly. It was the strongest of the three slave dynasties: Xia, Shang and Zhou. The imperial cuisine of the Zhou Dynasty was a great improvement over the cuisines of the Xia and Shang dynasties. Beginning with the construction of the Xia Dynasty palace and the establishment of the imperial court, an organization was set up to prepare and serve food to the emperor and empress.
